York University offers teachers and their students the chance to see a matinée performance, have a tour and participate in a workshop free of charge.
For a limited time! York University’s Department of Theatre is offering free tickets for teachers and their students to attend a matinée of one the shows in their current Theatre @ York season.
York's Department of Theatre will be producing Brebeuf’s Ghost by renowned First Nations playwright Daniel David Moses, from January 24 – 30, 2016. In March Yvette Nolan’s The Birds, a modern Indigenous adaptation of Aristophanes' comedy will run from March 20 – 26, 2016.
In addition to the matinée performance, the department is willing to provide any of the following to your students:
· a guided tour of facilities: a look behind the scenes into workshops, classes and theatre spaces.
· a workshop specially designed for your student group
· a special presentation of the various programs of study possible within the Department of Theatre
Tickets, tours, workshops and presentations are available on a first come, first served basis. The first class or group of students from any given school will have access to free tickets. Subsequent groups from the same school will be charged a nominal fee.
