It was a great day at OISE for CODE on the Road in Toronto. Educators from all levels participated in drama and dance workshops from a wide variety of presenters with diverse backgrounds. Herbie Barnes, Artistic Director of YPT, started off the day with a keynote about connection and community that resonated deeply with CODE's hopes for the day. Thank you to OISE and Christine Jackson for hosting us, and to the conference chairs, Kat Karpenchuk and Tracy Thomson, for their hard work in organizing the day.
Cheri-Anne Byrne, CODE Treasurer and Membership Manager, smiles brightly from behind the CODE registration table which is laden with a blue tablecloth, black CODE t-shirts, markers for name tags, and raffle tickets. Behind Cheri-Anne is a wall with posters featuring the presenters for each track for the day. Down a short hallway behind her, a row of vendor tables and vendors are visible.Studio 180's Director of Youth and Community Engagement, Jessica Greenberg, stands on the left of the photo next to Herbie Barnes, the Artistic Director for Young People's Theatre and the keynote for the conference.
