CODE Summer Writing Projects

CODE Summer Writing Projects cover image

For both projects, preference will be given to active and current CODE members. Deadline to apply for either project is June 21 at 11:59 pm.

Call for Writers - Visionary Voices: Engaging with the Canada Theatre’s Museum Library of Legends through Drama and Inquiry

We are pleased to announce that the CODE, in association with Canada’s Theatre Museum (CTM), will be developing a multilevel, teaching resource in connection to CTM’s online Legend Library. CTM is a theatre arts museum in Toronto, Ontario that provides the means for people to explore and be inspired by the artistry, plurality and diversity inherent in the past, present and future of Canadian theatre. Their Legend Library is a series of online, video interviews by R.H. Thomson with pioneers and change-makers of Canadian theatre.

Call for Project Manager & Writers - ArtFusion First Five

We are pleased to announce that the CODE, in association with Ontario Music Educators’ Association (OMEA) and the Ontario Art Education Association (OAEA), will be developing a series of five lessons per panel per subject to support new-to-the-arts teachers. ArtFusion is a collaboration between Ontario’s three arts subject associations aimed at bridging gaps for non-specialists to ensure high-quality arts education is available to every student.

Writing teams will curate a series of 5 lessons from existing CODE material (as much as possible) to support teachers in launching the school year with a strong foundation. Lessons will focus on establishing anti-oppressive and trauma-informed classroom spaces, providing guidance in relevant and effective classroom management (e.g., routines and procedures) while introducing some foundational concepts in the art for that panel. These lessons will include guidance for diagnostic and other assessments, as appropriate.
