EVOLVE 2021 will now take place at the Sheraton Hamilton on October 22-24th, 2021. We have already selected a fantastic slate of presenters, and those offers will be honoured for next year. CODE will also provide special support to arts organizations in our Trade Fair, as so many of our treasured partners have been severely impacted by COVID-19.
This fall, CODE will hold a unique ‘virtual celebration’ of its 50th anniversary, as well as a virtual Annual General Meeting. We will also hold a special tribute to David Booth, which had been planned as part of our 2020 conference program. Please look for details about these events in the coming months on our website.
The challenges that COVID-19 has presented to us bring into sharp focus that which has always mattered most to CODE: coming together to learn from one another and celebrating the vibrant arts community we have created over the past fifty years. When we do meet again in October 2021, our chosen theme of ‘looking back and moving forward’ will be that much more poignant, and our need to come together even stronger. EVOLVE 2021 will be more than a conference. It will be a celebration of all we have achieved and endured, and a cherished reunion for arts educators to re-engage in the vital work we do.
