Using script writing, improv, monologue, and scene work, students explore and create characters through the exploration of a Canadian play through reading, discussion and a variety of improvisational activities to get deeper into the world of the characters. This unit is based on Morris Panych’s Seven Stories, but can be easily adapted for other Canadian plays, such as Little Sister by Joan MacLeod, The Rez Sisters by Tomson Highway, 1837: The Farmers Revolt by Rick Salutin or Pressure by Lindsay Price.
