This course combines aspects of both ADB 3M and ATU 3M to create the Musical Theatre course. Ideally this course should reflect both drama and dance so that students can take a credit in either ADB 3M or ATU 3M depending of the strengths of the teacher or the needs of the student. Students will explore the elements of time and energy and dance that represents the components of a thunderstorm, convey animals and their interactions with the environment and humans. In the last lesson, students will apply their understanding of narrative form and the elements of dance to create a group dance piece that conveys a particular emotion. In this course, students will build on their knowledge of dance composition by physically exploring a multitude of compositional forms. Created in 2010 for 2009 Ontario Curriculum Support.

By examining the development of Western theatre forms throughout history, students learn about the variety of ways in which theatre was used to tell stories to audiences in different eras. Created in 2010 for 2009 Ontario Curriculum Support.
