Instructions

  • Invite students to sit in a circle on the floor.  Ask a student to volunteer  to be the guard and sit cross-legged in the centre of the circle.  Instruct the guard to protect the jewel (The teacher’s keys) from a thief who is sitting somewhere in the circle.  The keys are placed in front of the guard.  The guard is then blindfolded and told to listen carefully for the thief.  If they think they hear the thief trying to steal the jewel they must point directly at where they think the thief is.  (No sweeping pointing is allowed on the part of the guard.)
  • Invitez les élèves à s'asseoir en cercle sur le sol.  Demandez à un élève de se porter volontaire pour être le gardien et de s'asseoir les jambes croisées au centre du cercle.  Demandez au gardien de protéger le bijou (les clés du professeur) d'un voleur assis quelque part dans le cercle.  Les clés sont placées devant le gardien.  On li bande les yeux et on li demande d'écouter attentivement le voleur.  S'iel pense entendre le voleur essayer de voler le bijou, iel doit pointer du doigt l'endroit où iel pense que se trouve le voleur.  (Le gardien n'a pas le droit de brandir le bras autour du cercle).
  • Once the guard is set, silently point to a student sitting in the circle.  That student becomes the thief and must get up, attempt to steal the jewel and sit back down in their place in the circle in order to win the game.  If the guard successfully points to the thief, the thief becomes the guard and returns to the circle.
  • Instruct the students sitting in the circle to be as quiet as possible so the guard can listen for the thief.
  • Select a new thief and play again.
  • Une fois le gardien en place, désignez silencieusement un élève assis dans le cercle. Cet élève devient le voleur et doit se lever, tenter de voler le bijou et se rasseoir à sa place dans le cercle pour gagner le jeu.  Si le gardien réussit à désigner le voleur, ce dernier devient le gardien et retourne dans le cercle.
  • Demandez aux élèves assis dans le cercle d'être aussi silencieux.ses que possible afin que le gardien puisse écouter le voleur.
  • Choisissez un nouveau voleur et recommencez le jeu.
